Pedro say’s YES to “Underground Downtown” -August 3rd 2008
The Latin Rap community has a new event for unsigned Rap Music Artists. Club Heat will give many artists a chance to showcase their music within a live audience. The growing Rap/Hip-Hop community in Houston has many faces when it comes to implementing race and culture. Pedro Alegria, manager at Club Heat, has noticed the demand for Rap/Hip-Hop Music with Latin influences in Houston. “Houston has several well known & emerging Latin/Hispanic Artist needing a stage to perform and voice their music,” says Alegria. He has added the new event on Sunday for the month of August in order to accommodate the Latin culture and their musical love for Rap/Hip-Hop. “I believe radio segregates by providing two rap stations in Houston, and when there was only one station, Latinos were there to listen as well. I think it’s time to simply accommodate for the growing numbers and add the Sunday night event.” Friday nights in the downtown district is
predominantly urban and Alegria is positive Sunday has become the night for Latin Underground Artists and their fans.
Intimacy is the key for the night and a large attendance is anticipated. Entrance will be limited for the monthly showcases. Pedro adds, “It’s intimacy, rap, hip-hop, enjoyable, VIP, it’s Latin! If it can be anything else it would be a melting pot just like Houston.” Alegira is aware of different venues catering to Rap/Hip-hop but insists he simply wants to accommodate the demand. Club Heat is located on 511 Main St. in the Downtown District. TSS will be there for a live taping of the event.
Comming Soon:
Next Up for TSS is the Hip-Hop event “DUNKS”! An event with TSS and 3Sunz Apparel at the Avant Garden in the Montrose district.
